Land Surveying — Practical Field Training
Practical field surveying using total stations, theodolites, automatic levels, and GNSS/GPS for traverse surveys, levelling, and topographic mapping of engineering sites.
What you will learn
- Set up, operate, and calibrate a total station, theodolite, and automatic level for engineering surveys
- Conduct traverse surveys, levelling loops, and angular measurements with closure error checking
- Use GNSS/GPS equipment for control point determination and coordinate computation
- Produce a complete survey report, field notes, and a plotted survey plan to standard format
Who it's for
FET students in civil, geomatic, or environmental engineering. Basic mathematics and field-work readiness required.
