Geometric design, cross-section design, drainage, and pavement design of roads and highways using engineering standards applicable to Cameroon, with introduction to design software.

What you will learn

• Apply horizontal and vertical alignment design principles to produce road geometry for a given design speed
• Design cross-sectional elements including carriageway width, shoulder, cut, and fill zones
• Size surface drainage channels, culverts, and stormwater control structures for a design storm
• Produce a road design report and CBR-based flexible pavement design for a rural or urban road
