Generator Installation & Maintenance

Practical training in diesel generator set commissioning, automatic transfer switch wiring, load calculations, and preventive maintenance schedules for standby power systems.

What you will learn

• Identify generator set components and explain the automatic start, run, and transfer sequence
• Wire an ATS panel for both manual and automatic changeover between mains and generator supply
• Calculate generator loading, apply derate factors, and select the correct generator rating
• Carry out a full preventive maintenance schedule including fuel, oil, coolant, battery, and filter checks

Open to all FET students. Basic electrical knowledge is helpful.
