Wind Energy Systems — Installation & Maintenance

Small and medium wind turbine technology, wind site assessment, tower and nacelle installation, grid connection, and operation and maintenance procedures for wind energy projects.

What you will learn

  • Identify wind turbine component types (HAWT/VAWT) and explain the power generation and conversion process
  • Conduct a basic wind site assessment using anemometer data, wind rose, and resource maps
  • Install a small wind turbine including tower, nacelle, blades, and electrical connection to an inverter
  • Apply a preventive maintenance schedule and diagnose common wind turbine mechanical and electrical faults

Who it's for

FET electrical or mechanical engineering students. Basic electrical installation experience is recommended.
