LED & Smart Lighting Systems

LED technology, driver selection, DALI addressable lighting control, lumen method lighting design, and commercial and street lighting system design and commissioning.

What you will learn

• Explain LED technology, luminous efficacy, colour temperature (CCT), and CRI for different lighting applications
• Select the correct LED driver type (constant current/voltage, dimmable) for a given luminaire
• Design a DALI-controlled lighting system for an office or commercial space to meet lux level targets
• Calculate illuminance levels using the lumen method and verify compliance with design standards

Open to all FET students. Basic electrical knowledge is recommended.
