HVAC Design & Load Calculation
Systematic HVAC cooling and heating load calculation, equipment selection, duct system design, and design report production for residential and commercial buildings.
What you will learn
- Calculate room-by-room cooling and heating loads using ASHRAE or Manual J methods
- Select and size HVAC equipment including AHUs, fan coil units, and chillers based on calculated loads
- Design supply and return duct systems using equal friction and velocity methods with correct pressure loss calculations
- Produce a complete HVAC design report with load summary, equipment schedule, and duct layout drawing
Who it's for
FET mechanical or building services engineering students. Basic thermodynamics and heat transfer knowledge is recommended.
