CNC Machining & Metal Turning (Lathe)
Manual lathe operation, CNC milling and turning G-code programming, cutting tool selection, machining parameters, tolerances, and component quality inspection for precision engineering.
What you will learn
- Set up and operate a manual centre lathe to produce turned components to specified dimensions and tolerances
- Write, edit, and verify G-code programs for CNC turning and milling operations
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and depth of cut for different workpiece materials
- Inspect machined components using micrometers, vernier callipers, and surface roughness measurement instruments
Who it's for
FET mechanical engineering students. Basic engineering drawing and mathematics are required.
