Heavy Equipment Operation & Maintenance

Safe operation and daily maintenance of heavy construction equipment including excavators, motor graders, and wheel loaders on a supervised training ground.

What you will learn

• Identify controls, safety systems, and correct operating positions for excavator, grader, and loader
• Perform daily pre-shift walkaround inspections and operator safety checks on heavy equipment
• Operate an excavator for trenching, material excavation, and loading under supervised practical conditions
• Apply preventive maintenance procedures including fluid checks, greasing, track/tyre inspection, and filter changes

Who it's for

Open to all FET students with physical fitness. Minimum age and medical fitness check required. Safety induction is mandatory.
