Green Building & Sustainable Construction (LEED)
Green building design principles, LEED credit categories, passive design strategies, sustainable materials and embodied carbon, water efficiency, and green roof and wall systems.
What you will learn
- Describe the LEED rating system categories and explain the credit scoring and certification pathway
- Apply passive design strategies (solar orientation, shading, natural ventilation) to a building design concept
- Identify sustainable materials and perform a basic embodied carbon assessment using standard methods
- Evaluate a building design against water efficiency, energy performance, and indoor environment quality criteria
Who it's for
Open to all FET students. Architecture, civil, or building services engineering background is helpful.
